Quick Tour of Williams, AZ for the Arizona State ARRL Convention

July 6th, 7th, and 8th, 2007 from the Arizona ScQRPions

Williams has many antique and other quaint shoppes.  Plenty of restaurants, things to do, and places to go.  Flagstaff is about 30 miles to the east on I-40 if you run out of things to do in Williams.

I will get a map showing the layout of Williams, list or a link to a list of accommodations, and eateries up here on this site in the next day or three.  Watch for semi-regular updates as we can enter more information.  I will post to QRP-L and AZQRP as more information is available.  Email me with your suggestions and other informational contributions.  Take this page over.  Whatever.   Send to: jwsteven at concentric dot net. This antispam technique is very effective, by the way.

Hope to see you all up here in the cool mountains of Northern Arizona!  Fly into Phoenix, then take an easy three hour drive north to Williams.  We have the Kaibab Lake campground just 4 miles NNE of Williams reserved from 2 pm on Thursday, July 5, until 1 pm on Sunday, July 8.  Bring your fishin’ pole and don’t forget the Arizona fishing license with trout stamp for the Rainbows and Browns rumored to be in the 80 acre lake.  No cigarette boats.  Electric motors are allowed for your watercraft.  The lake is probably deep enough for the draft of a #10 washtub.

Thanks to Chuck Adams (K7QO) and Mike Baker (K7DD) for all the information and pictures from their scouting activities.
